How often are these trends updated?

Several times a day: every 3 hours in the countries with the most interest, every 12 hours in the rest. Each update saves what's trending in Switzerland, and the last 24 hours appear in the timeline on this page.

How does a topic end up trending on X?

X ranks topics that people are talking about more than usual right now, not only the most talked about overall. That is why a short-lived event can rank above a topic people discuss every day.

How do I find out why something is trending?

Select Why? next to any topic. Radar, the research tool in Endless, searches X, Reddit and the web and writes a briefing with a link to every source. Signing up is free.
