Vectorize image to SVG
Pick the image you want as a vector. After you sign in, attach it in your workspace chat; the agent converts it to an editable SVG with Ideogram Vector and tells you the cost before it runs.
What does it mean to vectorize an image?
A PNG or JPG is made of pixels, so it blurs when you enlarge it. Vectorizing traces the image into shapes and paths and saves it as an SVG, which stays sharp at any size and opens in Illustrator, Figma, Inkscape or Affinity as separate shapes you can recolor and edit.
It works best on images with clear shapes and flat colors: logos, icons, line art, stickers and flat illustrations. A photo becomes a simplified, illustrated version made of color areas, which can be the look you want for a poster or a sticker but does not keep photographic detail.
In Endless, the agent runs Ideogram Vector on the image you attach and saves the SVG in your workspace. In the same chat you can upscale or remove the background of the source first, or ask Ideogram Vector or Recraft v4.1 to draw a new vector from a description.
How it works
- 01
Pick the image
Drop or choose the PNG, JPG or WebP you want as a vector in the box above. A logo, icon or flat illustration gives the cleanest result.
- 02
Sign in and attach it again
Create a free Endless account or sign in. Your workspace chat opens with the prompt already written. The file stays on this page, so attach the image again in the chat and send.
- 03
Download the SVG
The agent tells you the cost, converts the image and saves the SVG in your assets. Download it and open it in your design tool.
What people use it for
- 01
Logos for print
Turn an old logo you only have as a small PNG into an SVG for signs, packaging, embroidery or a print shop that asks for a vector file.
- 02
Icons and stickers
Convert icons, stickers and badges into vectors you can resize for an app, a website or a cutting machine.
- 03
Hand drawings and sketches
Photograph a drawing or a lettering sketch on paper and get clean vector paths you can refine in Illustrator or Figma.
- 04
AI images you want to edit
Vectorize a logo or illustration you generated so you can change its colors and shapes in a design tool, instead of generating it again.
- 05
Merch and print on demand
Prepare a design for t-shirts, mugs or posters as an SVG that prints sharp at any size.
Frequently asked questions
Is it free to vectorize an image?
You can start free. A free Endless account comes with the Free plan, which gives your workspace 100 credits when you create it and 50 credits every week, and Ideogram Vector is on the Free plan. At the current price one conversion costs about 25 credits, and the agent tells you the cost before it runs.
What file do I get?
An SVG file saved in your workspace assets. It opens in Illustrator, Figma, Inkscape, Affinity Designer and most browsers, and you can edit each shape and color.
What images work best?
Logos, icons, line art and flat illustrations with clear edges and a few colors. Use the largest, sharpest version you have; if it is small or blurry, ask the agent to upscale it first. Remove a busy background first if you only want the subject.
Can I vectorize a photo?
You can, but the result is an illustrated version of the photo made of flat color areas. Fine detail like skin texture or hair does not carry over. For a photo you want to print large, upscale it instead.
Can I make a new vector from a description?
Yes. Ask in the chat for a logo, icon or illustration as SVG, and the agent uses Ideogram Vector or Recraft v4.1, which both draw vectors from a prompt.
Which formats can I upload?
PNG, JPG and WebP images. To vectorize a page of a PDF, export it as an image first.
Are my files private?
Images you attach and the SVG files you create are saved in your workspace, private by default, and you decide who to share them with. Use only images you have the rights to.
