Kimi K3

Kimi K3 is Moonshot AI's flagship model, released in July 2026: a 2.8-trillion-parameter mixture-of-experts model with open weights. Its native multimodal architecture understands text, images and video in the same model, and it holds 1M tokens of context. Training focused on long-horizon, hard tasks, so it can carry an engineering session for a long stretch, move around a large repository and drive terminal tools.

Teams use it for coding projects that outgrow a single prompt: building a front end and checking it against screenshots, migrating a large codebase, or working through a backlog of related issues in one thread.
