Trash

Deleted files wait 30 days before they're gone for good — here is how to get one back, and how to remove one now.

Settings → Workspace → Trash holds what you've deleted, and the rule is stated on the page itself: "Items in the trash are automatically deleted after 30 days. Restore them before then to keep them."

Any member can open it. There is no permission on this page: it lists the deleted items you were able to see in the first place, which in practice means your own work.

The Trash page: a grid of deleted image tiles, each captioned with its name, the model that made it and how long ago it was deleted, and under that a countdown of the days left before it is removed for good — 29 days on the newest, 19 on the oldest

30 days, then permanent. After that the item and the underlying file are removed for good, automatically, with no further warning and no way back. The empty state puts it the same way: "Deleted items show up here for 30 days before they're removed for good."

What ends up here

Assets — everything media

Uploaded files, generated images, video and audio, documents, text and transcripts. "Move to trash" anywhere in Assets lands the item here.

Not conversations

Deleting a chat is immediate and final — it does not wait in the trash. The dialog warns you before you do it. See Chat history.

Projects are a third case again: they are archived, not trashed, and that is Archived projects.

Restoring something

Select what you want back

The trash is a grid of tiles. Select one and you're in selection mode; keep selecting to build a batch. A bar appears at the bottom with the count.

Press "Restore"

The items go back where they came from, untouched — same visibility, same links to whatever chat, canvas or project they belonged to. Endless confirms with a count of what it restored.

Deleting something now

The same bar offers "Delete forever", which skips the 30-day wait. It asks first, and the confirmation is unambiguous: "This can't be undone. The file and its data are removed for good."

Deleting for good removes the underlying file as well as the entry, so anything still pointing at it — a canvas that used the image, a chat that referenced it — loses it. Restore is only an option while the item is still in the trash.

Who can restore what

Trash and restore are creator-only, and no role overrides that. You can restore and permanently delete the things you made; a colleague's deleted work is not yours to bring back or to destroy, even as an admin. This is the same rule that governs assets everywhere in Endless — see Assets and visibility.
